Mobile Home Now Has A New Meaning

Going Mobile

10 Oct Mobile Home Now Has A New Meaning

Mobile first, that’s what we are all thinking now. Nearly 70% of our website traffic is on mobile. In honour of this, today I am writing my blog on my mobile.

The main aim is to show that it really does help to blog showing your knowledge in the area. I’m not a betting man but if I were, I would bet you are reading this on a mobile or tablet. This is a calculated guess as there are now more people accessing the web through their mobile. More people in the world own mobiles than own a toothbrush. So here are just a couple of reasons to be there:

Showrooming

This is a thing. People go into a shop, try on the clothes, shoes, jewellery and then browse online to get a cheaper price.

52% of Americans user their devices while browsing in-store in order to research the product online.

Google says so

On April 21st, Google globally rolled out their mobile-friendly update.

This meant that they were boosting the ranking of mobile-friendly pages on mobile search results which, as pointed out earlier, are growing.

Conversions are starting on mobile

76% of email campaigns are opened on mobile. These are then pushed to tablet or laptop. On the dart, in traffic, on the loo, people are browsing.  Get your product out there – Your customer is!

Social is happening there.

So here is a list of the growing numbers that will just show how big it’s getting.

  • 65% of all watched video clips on Facebook are on mobile.
  • 68% of all clicked Facebook “like” buttons are from mobile.
  • 73% of all uploaded and shared photos on Facebook are from mobile.
  • 88% of all uploaded and shared photos on twitter came from mobile.
  • 90% of shared links to blogs on twitter came from mobile

Every one of these I have done. What about you? You can only access SnapChat and Instagram on your mobile. So that’s it. If you are doing social, you need to think about your mobile strategy first.

So they are just a couple of the reasons to go mobile, think mobile first and you’ll have a much better chance of succeeding.
